  • New to bouldering? It's like indoor rock climbing without the ropes and harnesses. But don’t worry—you’re never far from the ground, and we’ve got soft mats beneath you for extra protection.

The best part? You don’t need much gear, and it’s a fun, welcoming activity where you can move at your own pace. Whether you’re brand new or have some experience, there’s always something to enjoy.

Feeling ready? Check out our safety tips to start with confidence.

  • At Boulder Heads, we've got climbs for every skill level, marked by the color of the holds—so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting into. Whether you’re here for an easy start or you’re chasing a challenge, we’ve got you covered.

    Pro tip for first-timers:
Start with the easier climbs, typically the first 2 or 3. Even the pros use these levels to warm up or cool down, so you’re in good company!

    How it works:

    • Find your start—tags show where to kick things off.

    • Stick to one color—each climb (or “problem,” if you want to sound like a pro) uses holds of the same color. But feel free to use the gray volumes or the wall anytime.

    • Nail the finish—to complete a climb, both hands need to land on the final hold, nice and controlled. Boom, you're done!

    • Getting down—climb, don’t jump. And don’t forget, you can use any color on the way down.

  • Ever wondered how we keep things fresh at Boulder Heads? Simple—we mix it up! Every week, we switch out the climbing routes, so there’s always something new to tackle. Whether you're just starting out or you’re a seasoned crusher, there’s always a fresh puzzle waiting for you. No two visits are ever the same, and that’s how we like it!

  • At Boulder Heads, climbers under 16 need to have a parent or guardian keeping an eye on them. It's all about making sure the little ones follow the rules and stay safe while having fun.

Got a young adventurer? No worries—we don’t have an age limit. Kids under 5 can be a bit hit and miss, so we only charge $10, and that includes shoe hire. Bring them in and see if they catch the climbing bug!

  • If your current fitness routine is feeling a bit... well, routine, it might be time for a change. Climbing offers a refreshing break from the gym grind with a full-body workout that’s as mentally engaging as it is physically challenging.

Instead of counting reps, you’ll be solving vertical puzzles and using muscles you didn’t even know you had. Plus, it’s a great way to connect with a community of fellow climbers who share your enthusiasm for adventure and fitness.

Curious about making the switch? Climbing might just be the change you’re looking for. Come give it a try and see what all the buzz is about!

  • Curious about how much climbing will set you back? Most newbies start with a day pass. It’s just $20 for adults and $16 for kids (under 16). Need shoes? We’ve got you covered for an extra $5.

If you’re thinking about climbing more than once a week, check out our memberships for a sweet deal. We’re all about making climbing fun and affordable for everyone!

  • We get it—hearing that bouldering doesn’t use harnesses or ropes can raise some eyebrows. But don’t worry! Indoor bouldering is actually one of the safest climbing activities out there. Major injuries are rare, and with our soft matting, the chances of a serious mishap are pretty low.

Of course, minor bumps and scrapes can happen, just like with any sport. But don’t stress—we’ve got safety guidelines to help keep everyone aware and injury-free. Check them out and rest easy knowing your kids are in good hands!

Our routes are crafted with meticulous care. Jad, our owner and head setter, is dedicated to maintaining interesting and creative climbs because bouldering isn’t just a hobby it’s his passion and lifestyle.

We love the positive feedback and compliments we've received from our climbers about our setting. At Boulder Heads, we also invite guest setters to bring fresh perspectives and creativity to our routes. If you’re a route setter, we'd love to collaborate with you! If you’re a member interested in setting, hit us up for an opportunity to contribute and set climbs using our wildcard woodies, enriching our gym's climbing experience with your unique flair.

    We're not just a business—we're a family

We’re two siblings, Jad and Temma, and running this gym is more than just a business—it’s our passion. Jad is the key guy here, practically living at the gym as we grow our business. Since we opened, Temma has been pregnant and welcomed her firstborn, Rio. Our members were just as excited for his arrival as we were, and now Rio’s grown up here, waving at everyone like they’re part of the family.

We’ve also roped our retired parents into helping with shifts. With their background as school teachers, they’ve even caught the climbing bug in their 60s and enjoy trying out the new climbs we set each week.

When you visit, you’ll always feel that warm, welcoming vibe that comes from being part of something more than just a business.

An intimate club = a faster progression

In larger gyms, we've seen that climbers often stick to one difficulty level. Members tell us they progress more quickly at Boulder Heads because they're pushed out of their comfort zones. As they master all the climbs at their current level, they naturally progress to tackle the next set of challenges, enhancing their problem-solving skills along the way.

Oh, and if you really want to challenge yourself, good news! We have two training boards coming (ETA October 2024): a 25-degree Tension 2 and a 40-degree 2024 Moonboard. Watch this space.
